ABDC Season 4 Finale... Season 5 Announced!!
America has spoken! Congratulations We Are Heroes!
We Are Heroes is America's Best Dance Crew for Season 4! The first female, non-b boy street dance crew to earn the title literally set the stage on fire with their prior week's performance which earned them the highest number of votes from America and the $100,000 grand prize. Runners up Afroborike also crushed the floor with an incredible performance born from the roots of their sexy Latino style.
All 9 of season 4's crews returned to perform live in Sunday's season finale. After the show there were tears of excitement and sadness from various crew members as they said their final good byes to the ABDC stage. And of course there was an after party sponsored by NIKE! Friends, family, celebrities, dancers, you name em, were catered to an after party event which was held on the Warner Bros studio lot in what seemed to be a New York street scene set of a movie. Nike provided prizes and guests were entertained with music, dancing, food & drinks all night long. We will share photos and video from these last moments on hiphopinternational.com shortly.
Season 4 is a wrap and season 5 has officially been announced! Hip Hop International will continue to cover the details as the new season approaches. Master Mixes Available for ABDC's Semifinals Episode
District 78 posted the master mixes America's Best Dance Crew 4's Decades of Dance and Last Chance Challenges, including the music for the Massive Monkees performance we didn't get to watch.

If you were to jump in a time-travelin' DeLorean with Michael J. Fox and travel back seven weeks ago, you'd see NOBODY was predicting these crews to meet in the final two. Yep, against all odds, we've got two top underdog crews going head-to-head in the ABDC finale, and we can't wait to find out how this Cinderella story ends.
Of course, it goes without saying that it's still anyone's game. Both We Are Heroes and AfroBorike ripped up the stage last night, and (literally!) set it on fire with their Last Chance performances.
After last night's drama-packed show finally came to an end, the two remaining crews filed off the stage into the garage and breathed a collective sigh of relief. It's official: AfroBorike and We Are Heroes have done all they can do -- and now it's in America's hands to decide who's crowned the winners of Season 4's ABDC.
And as it was pointed out Season 4's America's Best Dance Crew will have at least 3 female members.

"Decades of Dance Challenge"
"Last Chance Challenge"
Only two episodes left before ABDC crowns a champ! And to honor all the amazing dancers (and Dance Crew alumni) who paved the way to Season Four, the final challenge will celebrate great performers of the past! In no particular order, the crews will dance to a master mix of the following songs:
'Decades Of Dance Challenge'
1960s "Sex Machine" - James Brown
1970s "Uprock" - Rock Steady Crew
1980s "Cold Hearted" - Paula Abdul
1990s "U Make Me Wanna" - Usher
2000s "Love Game" - Lady Gaga
And just a reminder about how the game's played: one crew will be given the boot halfway through the show, then the remaining two will deliver their "Last Chance Challenge" routine in hopes of locking in your vote. Get ready for a do-or-die battle!

DANCE CRAZE CHALLENGE
ABDC stage change: the human springboard.
Yep, for one week only, the Dance Crew stage will be outfitted with a giant trampoline for all the crews to use as they please! Layla Kayleigh broke the news to the final five squads at the Los Angeles School of Gymnastics, so they could start practicing their high-jumps.
For their challenge this week, the crews will be incorporating the latest dance crazes (think updated Cabbage Patch) into their routines. And in addition to mastering their moves -- and giving 'em their own perosnal spin -- they'll also need to incorporate that big ol' trampoline ... without falling flat on their faces. Take a look at the songs and challenges assigned to each ABDCrew.
AFROBORIKE - "Swag Surfin" Fast Life Yungstaz

ABDC 4: Bollywood Songs and Challenges
Sunday, August 30th
9:00 PM ET/PT, 8:00 PM CT
BOLLYWOOD CHALLENGE
MTV has announced the song choices and specific challenges for the
Bollywood Challenge during ABDC Week 4:
Song List and Challenges for Episode 4:
This week's dance challenge should excite everyone, as our six remaining crews will be tested in the art of Bollywood dance! With the incredible success of Slumdog Millionaire, Bollywood, its music and its dances have captivated America. Each crew will be given a Bollywood accented hip-hop track and be expected to perform their routine incorporating a specified move from the lexicon of Indian Dance. Here are this week's crew songs and challenges:
RHYTHM CITY "Jai Ho" A.R. Rahman & Pussycat Dolls
Challenge: BHARATA NATYUM - The movements are ample and precise, always symmetrical. The technical vocabulary comprises jumps, spins and balanced attitudes. This style has a lot of bending, squatting and large arm movements.
WE ARE HEROES - "Arab Money" Busta Rhymes & Ron Brownz
Challenge: GIDDHA - Performed in a circle, Giddha consists of clapping and often becomes a friendly battle between two people trying to out do each other, with a story. This style is performed by women only and is considered the female version of Bhangra.
AFROBORIKE - "Dance Bailalo" Kat De Luna
Challenge: KATHAK - Kathak performers are noted for their fast turns and stomping footwork, whose rhythms, exaggerated by ankle bells, develop into complex metrical sequences. Kind of like tap dance, but without the shoes.
VOGUE EVOLUTION - "Calabria 2008" Enur
Challenge: RAJASTHANI - Rajasthani Dance comes from the Indian state of Rajasthan. It is a folk style performed during Indian celebrations. The style is fluid with swaying movements, hand gestures and small hip movements. Women generally perform this in a circle wearing brightly colored veils and skirts flaring out as they twirl in circles.
MASSIVE MONKEES - "Bang" Rye Rye Ft. M.I.A.
Challenge: BHANGRA - Bhangra is considered to be the most energetic dance style of India. The movement requires lot of athleticism. Bhangra is somewhat graceful, but the moves are large and powerful. It’s a very masculine form of dance.
BEAT YA FEET KINGS - "So Fine" Sean Paul
Challenge: GARBA - People dance around the center, bending sideways at every step, their arms making sweeping gestures, each movement ending in a clap. Formation changes, switching partners and barrel turns make a diverse and difficult Garba.

World Hip Hop Dance Championship: Toni Basil to Accept Living Legend of Hip Hop Award
Basil will be the first (but certainly not last) woman to receive the prestigious "Living Legend of Hip Hop" Award, which she will accept onstage at tonight's World Finals.
We sat down with the dancing queen for a hot minute while she shared a little bit about awards, memories, locking, The Lockers, and sneaking a teeny bit of Boogaloo into the now-iconic video for her 80s mega-hit, "Mickey."
We're intrigued. Can you spot the Boogaloo?
LIL PHUNK BOYZ' K-Brooks Loses An Appendix, Gains A Medal
One of the incredible stories to emerge from the action-packed week is that of junior crew LIL PHUNK BOYZ member K-Brooks (aka Kyle Joseph Brooks), who helped his team earn the silver medal in the USA Juniors Devision competition, before falling ill to appendicitis and being rushed to the hospital for surgery.
Post-surgery, K-Brooks didn't fly home to Boston or hole up in his hotel room. Instead, he's been a fixture on the Championship floor, here in full force (with a bandaged tummy, to boot) to support his crew.
AND if he's up it, he may even dance in tonight's finals. We can barely believe the notion ourselves! But don't take our word for it... take his:
