America has spoken! Congratulations We Are Heroes!
We Are Heroes is America's Best Dance Crew for Season 4! The first female, non-b boy street dance crew to earn the title literally set the stage on fire with their prior week's performance which earned them the highest number of votes from America and the $100,000 grand prize. Runners up Afroborike also crushed the floor with an incredible performance born from the roots of their sexy Latino style.
All 9 of season 4's crews returned to perform live in Sunday's season finale. After the show there were tears of excitement and sadness from various crew members as they said their final good byes to the ABDC stage. And of course there was an after party sponsored by NIKE! Friends, family, celebrities, dancers, you name em, were catered to an after party event which was held on the Warner Bros studio lot in what seemed to be a New York street scene set of a movie. Nike provided prizes and guests were entertained with music, dancing, food & drinks all night long. We will share photos and video from these last moments on hiphopinternational.com shortly.
Season 4 is a wrap and season 5 has officially been announced! Hip Hop International will continue to cover the details as the new season approaches. Only two episodes left before ABDC crowns a champ! And to honor all the amazing dancers (and Dance Crew alumni) who paved the way to Season Four, the final challenge will celebrate great performers of the past! In no particular order, the crews will dance to a master mix of the following songs:
'Decades Of Dance Challenge'
1960s "Sex Machine" - James Brown
1970s "Uprock" - Rock Steady Crew
1980s "Cold Hearted" - Paula Abdul
1990s "U Make Me Wanna" - Usher
2000s "Love Game" - Lady Gaga
And just a reminder about how the game's played: one crew will be given the boot halfway through the show, then the remaining two will deliver their "Last Chance Challenge" routine in hopes of locking in your vote. Get ready for a do-or-die battle!
With the VMAs airing Sunday night at 9pm, America’s Best Dance Crew (airing at 7pm) will rightfully pay tribute to the legendary music showcase by challenging its remaining four crews to get inspired by some of the awards show's most memorable performances. For this special episode of ABDC, each crew will update a classic VMA dance-driven routine, plus kick off the show with an incredible group performance.
Episode 6's song selections:
AFROBORIKE "Slave 4 U" Britney Spears
MASSIVE MONKEES "Tearing Up My Heart" *NSYNC
RHYTHM CITY "Wall To Wall" Chris Brown
WE ARE HEROES "Vogue" Madonna
